The Kogelberg Nature Reserve is one of the most beautiful of the Cape Nature protected areas. It is also referred to as the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom and boasts great diversity and quality of fynbos. The reserve is located about 90km from Cape Town and remains mostly unspoilt. It spans from Gordons Bay to Kleinmond and includes part of the Elgin and Grabouw regions.

Only activities not adversely affecting the area and wildlife are allowed. There are many hiking options within the reserve and during winter visitors can enjoy white water kayaking on the Palmiet River.
